BRMP® at a glance

What is BRM and BRMP®?

BRM stands for Business Relationship Management and embodies a set of competencies, behaviours and skills that cultivate productive, value-producing relationships. The objective is to inspire, surface, and shape business demand for a provider’s products or services by ensuring that the potential business value from those products and services is captured, optimised, and recognised. The Business Relationship Manager acts as a liaison between the business (customer) and the service provider (internal departments, such as IT, HR, or finance). The BRM facilitates and improves the communication between both parties and helps to ensure value realisation of the service provider’s products, services, or capabilities.

BRMP refers to the professional qualification in this role: the Business Relationship Management Professional. It’s a comprehensive foundation designed to provide a solid baseline level of knowledge regarding the BRM role. Based on BRM Institute’s publication The BRMP® Guide to the BRM Body of Knowledge, this certification delves into the key concepts of what it takes to master the art of business strategy.

The certification program was launched in 2013 by BRM Institute who has quickly become the leading influence in this domain, serving the global professional Business Relationship Management community.
