How to project manage your Christmas shopping
For the majority of people, the build up to Christmas is a hectic period with stress levels running high. Each year we vow to be more organised and each year this vow falls flat!
As a Project Management Training organisation, we felt it was our duty to provide all last minute Christmas shoppers’ with some basic project management principles to ease the tension! Learn how to project manage your Christmas shopping.
- DEFINE what you want to achieve throughout the day. What exactly do you need and who do you need to buy for? A list is essential
- Now you need to focus on the SCOPE of work. Where do you need to go and what time do you have to complete this? Why not produce a ‘work breakdown structure’ highlighting which shops you need to attend, your budget etc.
- PLAN PLAN PLAN – Once the scope has been achieved, break the day down into manageable areas. Always allow a float for any unexpected time delays (coffee break!)
- ENJOY the day. Follow your plan and you will be fine!
