What is the future of project management?
Since joining the project management industry 14 years ago, I have had the pleasure of attending many conferences. As a woman managing projects and running a business I particularity look forward to attending the annual APM Women in Project Management conference, and this year was no different.
What did the event teach us about the future of project management?
Training ByteSize is a family company and project management literally runs in our blood! We have experienced and seen a lot during our 30 years in the industry, so as my brother James and I were setting up our stand at the conference last month, we were excited to see how the day would unfold.
The first people we met that morning were project management apprentices, and that followed by some really interesting conversations more experienced PMs. We met graduates and job seekers, and the hunger for upskilling was evident.
The atmosphere throughout the day was electric; the drive and determination from delegates was inspiring. They each knew what they wanted to achieve in their career, with many seeking APM chartership status.
By the end of the day, my brother and I felt as though we were witnessing a shift in the industry. We had spent the day meeting the next generation of project managers and we came away excited to see how their energy and passion will influence the future of project management and the profession its self.
