About Martyn

Martyn Kinch is a co-founder and director of Training ByteSize, and one of the UK’s longest-standing figures in project management training. He co-founded Key Skills Ltd in 1998, registering prince2.com long before most people thought of the internet as a training channel, and developed the world’s first accredited online PRINCE2 course. At a time when project management training was almost entirely classroom-based, he worked directly with the accreditation body to establish a new standard for online courses, with accredited online exams following a few years later, standards the industry still builds on today.

After Key Skills was acquired by ILX Group, Martyn joined as Sales Director and grew the business to over 100 employees before taking on its international division, establishing operations across South Africa, Australia and Europe. He later returned to his entrepreneurial roots to co-found Training ByteSize, a quality-first, family-run provider that is today a top 5 UK provider for APM qualifications, with operations in Australia and expansion underway into the Middle East. Across his career, training delivered by the teams he has led has reached more than 250,000 people worldwide.

Over more than 25 years in the sector he has worked with candidates at every level, from people taking their first qualification through to experienced senior managers and programme directors weighing up whether formal certification is worth their time. He writes on project management qualifications, the value of certification for experienced practitioners, and how training translates into real career progression.
