“An excellent company with fantastic training products. Callum is a fantastic trainer, and balances what you need to know from an academic perspective, with how this can apply in practice. The relatable stories he uses helps the tougher topics to stick and everyone I've been in contact with has been supportive and responsive. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.” – Nicola Cunnington

“The whole service from booking to exam was flawless. The course I joined was a mix of online and classroom based learners - I was concerned at the start that the technological issues everyone faces with Zoom etc. would cause a problem for the classroom based learners, however it was all handled perfectly by Callum and the team. Really happy with the experience and skills I've picked up. I will be booking the next course with TrainingByteSize very soon!” – Tim Burchell

APM Courses FAQ – Duration, Cost, Exams & Career Outcomes

Is APM equivalent to PRINCE2?

While APM and PRINCE2 are both project management methodologies, they are different.

Focus:

  • APM focuses on the overall framework for managing projects. It emphasises a flexible approach tailored to the specific needs of each project. APM provides principles, processes, and best practices for managing projects effectively.
  • PRINCE2, on the other hand, is a structured method for effective project management. It provides a step-by-step approach with defined processes, roles, and responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle.

Structure:

  • APM doesn't prescribe a specific methodology but rather offers a framework that can be adapted to different projects and environments.
  • PRINCE2 provides a detailed and structured methodology with defined processes, stages, and roles.

Flexibility:

  • APM offers more flexibility in its approach, allowing project managers to tailor practices to suit the specific needs and circumstances of their projects.
  • PRINCE2 provides a standardised approach, which can be seen as less flexible but offers a clear and consistent framework for managing projects.

Certification:

  • APM offers certifications such as the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ), APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), and others.
  • PRINCE2 offers certification levels such as PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner.

In summary, while both APM and PRINCE2 are project management methodologies, they have distinct approaches, structures, and focuses. APM provides a flexible framework, while PRINCE2 offers a structured method for managing projects.

Is APM a professional body?
