The first module will introduce you to the course and its structure.
This module introduces you to PRINCE2® and helps you to understand what a project is, as well as what project management and the project context is. Additionally, learners will gain an overview of the features and benefits of this methodology.
This module looks at the seven PRINCE2® principles:
This module covers: the context, leading a successful change, and leading successful teams. Module four also emphasises the role of communication, and how people are central to the method.
This session on organising covers the purpose of organising in this framework, guidance for effective organising, management products to support the practice, key roles for the practice, and the key relationships with principles.
This module on starting a project covers: the purpose, objectives, and context of starting a project, and the activities involved.
Introducing the business case, module seven covers: the purpose of business case, guidance and techniques for effective business case management, and the management products to support this practice.
This module on the plans covers: the purpose of plans in project management, guidance for effective plans, the management products to support this practice, key roles for the practice, and the key relationships with principles.
This session on quality covers: guidance for effective quality management and how this can be applied to different project scenarios.
This module is on the risk practice within project management and will cover: the purpose of risk in PRINCE2®, guidance and techniques for effective risk management, and products that can support this practice.
This module covers both controlling a stage and managing product delivery. More specifically, you’ll learn about the purpose, objectives and context of controlling a stage.
Module 12 focuses on managing a stage boundary, including the purpose, objectives and context.
This session is on issues that may arise when managing a project and will cover guidance and techniques for effective issue management.
Progress is an essential part of project management. Module 14 covers: the purpose of progress in PRINCE2®, guidance and techniques for effective progress management, and the roles needed when managing progress in a project.
Sometimes overlooked, this session is on closing a project. In this module, you will learn about the purpose of closing a project, as well as the objectives, context and activities involved.
This module is on directing a project and it covers: the purpose, objectives, and context of directing a project.
The final session is a course review. In this module you will: recall key terms and concepts covered in PRINCE2® and prepare for the Foundation exam.
The PRINCE2® Foundation training course offers a multimedia, structured and comprehensive introduction to the PRINCE2® project management methodology.
The PRINCE2® Foundation syllabus assesses your understanding of PRINCE2® principles, themes, and processes. It evaluates your ability to apply the internationally recognised methodology to manage projects effectively. The syllabus covers essential project management concepts, terminology, and best practices.
The online course should take between 10 and 15 hours to complete, which includes notetaking, exercises and exam practice. It is assessed through a multiple-choice examination that includes 60 questions, which you will need to complete within one hour.

With state-of-the-art training facilities in the heart of rural Cheshire, courses at our Nantwich head office are a viable alternative to travelling to a larger city.
During the day your training will be delivered at our brand-new offices. There is free onsite parking, so you don’t need to worry about finding somewhere to leave your car while you are completing the course.
There is free Wi-Fi and a separate room for breakout sessions, lunches, and refreshments.
If you’re unable to make the course in person, we have the option to attend the same course virtually from the comfort of your own home or office.
There is a dedicated, high performance ceiling mounted camera that tracks the trainer and streams the course throughout the day. The trainer will also use a radio microphone, and there are microphones located throughout the room, so you’ll be able to hear the discussions clearly.
You will be able to ask questions and communicate with the trainer and those attending the course in person all day, so you’ll feel like you’re there!
All you need is a Zoom account, an internet connection, webcam, and microphone.
Once you’ve booked your place on the course you will receive a confirmation email and then a booking form for you to sign. You will have the opportunity to inform us of any dietary requirements or any additional needs or reasonable adjustments for any exams.
A thorough, clear and professional course support pack with stationary including pre-course materials and further instructions for the course, will be sent three to four weeks before the course commences.
Each day, the course will start at 9:00 in the morning.
Our friendly, expert trainer will guide you through the course syllabus ensuring that you understand all the information. There will be questions and activities throughout the course to reinforce the learning.
The trainer will be on hand in the evenings to answer any further questions that you may have about what you’ve covered that day.
Exams can be taken on the last day of the course, or they can be deferred and taken online at a later date. We would encourage you to take them as soon as possible whilst the information is still fresh.
There will be a break at around 10:30, and another at 14:30, with lunch at 12:30.
Lunch is ordered from a local company who provide an array of sandwiches, fruit, scones and a different selection of cakes each day. Crisps, breakfast bars and chocolate bars are also provided throughout the day. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water are available.
There is free parking at the Training Bytesize offices where the training centre is located. If you are staying at The Cheshire Cat Hotel, there is also free parking for guests.

If you are travelling by train, you can arrive at either Crewe or Nantwich train station.
To take some of the travel stress away, we offer residential PRINCE2® Foundation courses where you will stay at a local hotel – The Cheshire Cat – for the duration of the course. Accommodation is provided in the price of the residential option, so in the evenings you can relax in the hotel just a few minutes’ drive away.
There is a bar and restaurant at the hotel, but if you fancy something different, there are a variety of pubs and restaurants in the town centre which is nearby. With the bespoke Training ByteSize touch, your residential could feel more like a retreat!

This means that all our course materials have been evaluated to ensure they meet PeopleCert standards, and we are authorised to administer the PRINCE2® Foundation exam as outlined in our accreditation.
All PeopleCert Business and IT certifications must be renewed within three years of their original certification date.

PRINCE2® Foundation is an introductory qualification that provides a basic understanding of the PRINCE2 methodology, terminology, and concepts.
This qualification aligns with the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). PRINCE2® Foundation is generally considered equivalent to RQF Level 3/EQF Level 4.
