Self-paced learning gives you the freedom to study when and where it suits you. But what happens when you reach a topic you don’t quite understand, want something explained differently, or simply have a question?

Meet Byte, your Study Buddy, built into selected Training ByteSize online courses.

Byte gives you instant, course-specific support while you study. Ask a question and get an explanation based on the content of the course you’re currently learning.

No searching. No waiting. No losing momentum.

Look for the Byte badge on a course page, it means this course comes with a study buddy built in.

What is Byte?

Byte is Training ByteSize’s AI-powered Study Buddy, built into selected online courses to make independent study feel less like studying alone.

Ask Byte a question in your own words and it can explain a concept, simplify a tricky topic or approach it from a different angle. That is the AI at work: Byte creates an explanation for your question, rather than choosing from a fixed list of answers.

What makes Byte different is its course focus. It is designed around the Training ByteSize course you’re taking, so the help you receive stays relevant to the material you’re studying. Think of it as a study companion focused on your qualification, ready when a question pops into your head.

Byte adds another layer of support alongside your course and our expert trainers.

Why learners love having a Study Buddy

Get instant answers

When a topic isn’t quite clicking, ask Byte for help there and then. You can clear up a question and carry on learning while it’s fresh in your mind.

Available whenever you study

Early morning, lunchtime or late at night, Byte is there within your online course whenever you’re studying.

Course-specific support

Byte is designed around the course you’re taking. Like a tutor focused on your qualification, it helps explain the material you need to learn without sending you through unrelated web results.

Ask as many questions as you need

There’s no such thing as a silly question. Ask for another explanation, a simpler version, an example or a recap whenever you need one.

Learn your way

Everyone understands information differently. If one explanation doesn’t work for you, ask Byte to simplify it, clarify a term or approach the topic from a different angle.

Stay in the flow

No opening another browser tab. No searching through Google. No waiting for an email reply.

Ask Byte directly from your learning platform and carry on studying.

Build confidence as you learn

Being able to check something as soon as you’re unsure can help you feel more confident that you’ve understood a topic before moving on.

Investing in training for your team? Byte supports them too

When you invest in training, you want employees to understand what they’ve learned and feel ready to use it, not simply complete a course.

Byte gives learners an extra source of support within their online training. If a topic isn’t clicking, they can ask for a simpler explanation, clarify a term or revisit it from another angle before moving on. That can help them keep progressing and build confidence as they study.

For businesses putting employees through qualifications, better understanding may also support stronger exam preparation and potentially improve pass rates. Byte works alongside the course and our expert trainers, giving your team another way to get help when they need it.
